Experience Healdsburg Fair
A celebration of small-town charm and agricultural spirit.
History
1857 – May Day Festivals Begin
Healdsburg hosts May Day Festivals at what is now Oak Mound Cemetery. These early celebrations help establish the community’s tradition of springtime gatherings.
1859 – First Agricultural Fair
The first agricultural fair in Sonoma County is held in Healdsburg by
W. P. Ewing. Known as the Agricultural and Mechanic’s Society Fair, it
takes place on land purchased from town founder Harmon Heald.
1948 – Early Youth Fair
A small, informal fair for local youth is held near the American
Legion Hall on Center Street, marking the beginnings of the fair
we know and love today.
1950 – Official Founding of the HFFCF
The Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair is officially established.
1956 – Move to Giorgi Park
The fair relocates from Center Street to Giorgi Park (also known as Recreation Park), where it remains to this day.
1960s–Present – Growth & Tradition
The fair grows into one of Healdsburg’s most beloved community events, dedicated to supporting agricultural education for local 4-H
and FFA youth.
Twilight Parade Tradition
The Twilight Parade becomes the official kickoff to the fair, traditionally held the Thursday night before Memorial Day weekend.
2024 – Record-Breaking Year
The Healdsburg Fair celebrates its 75th anniversary!
Today
The Healdsburg Fair continues as a cherished Memorial Day Weekend tradition, with all proceeds dedicated towards supporting local youth in agriculture..

The HFFCF Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy throughout the year to ensure the fair and related events and activities run smoothly.
If you are interested in joining our team of directors to help execute and shape the events and opportunities available to support our local youth in agriculture, please reach out to any board member. HFFCF Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month @ 7pm.
It's a worthy and rewarding endeavor -- and a lot of fun!
